Barry Bonifay
Founder and President, Retired
At long last, Barry Bonifay has retired after providing ADA accessibility consulting services for many years. Since 1998, Barry has assisted architects, engineers, contractors, law firms, and business and property owners, specializing in plan reviews, audits, inspections and legal consulting. During that time, he has become one of the foremost ADA accessibility consultants in the country. He still serves as the accessibility consultant for the Tennessee Board of Regents. Barry lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Christopher Fielden

Christopher Fielden is a Certified Accessibility Inspector and Plans Examiner with the International Code Council and a Registered Accessibility Specialist in the state of Texas. He was a founding partner of PDS America in 1998 and then moved to Asheville, North Carolina to start his own business providing pre-design services to architects, engineers and contractors. In 2017 he rejoined PDS America and now works as an accessibility consultant and ADA accessibility plan reviewer. Christopher lives in Asheville with his partner Erica.
Derek Carpenter
Software Developer and
Systems Administrator
Derek Carpenter has an ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University. He has developed much of PDS America’s Information Technology infrastructure and associated workflows over the course of the past decade. Although Derek works full time as an engineer, he continues to implement necessary changes to our IT systems and maintains their continued operation. He aspires to develop software applications which assist in accessibility inspections and plan reviews.
